SP-AZ Series — Azeotropic Separation Membranes

Ceramic-supported membranes that break azeotropes and cut distillation energy

Product description

The azeotropic separation membrane is designed to separate azeotropes produced in industries such as chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing. It effectively breaks the composition of azeotropes and can be coupled with distillation processes, significantly reducing the energy consumption of traditional distillation units — saving energy and lowering production costs.

It can also be integrated with reactive distillation columns to form membrane reactors, promoting reactions, increasing conversion rates, boosting production capacity and reducing cost.

Performance figures are nominal values obtained under the standard test conditions stated with each table. Actual performance varies with feedwater chemistry, pretreatment, flux, recovery, temperature, pressure and operating practice. Individual element flow may vary from the nominal value. Specifications are subject to change without notice — request the current datasheet before specifying.

Typical applications

  • Chemical manufacturing — breaking azeotropes in solvent purification
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing — solvent recovery and reuse
  • Membrane-assisted distillation for energy reduction
  • Reactive distillation membrane reactors to raise conversion rates
